Credit Card payments for Nomination and Visa Applications now incur a surcharge

From the 19th of April 2014, the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) have introduced levy a surcharge of 1.08% on all credit card payments for application fees. The DIBP had advised that this has been introduced to recover Bank Merchant fees which apply to credit cards. The surcharge applies to both onshore and offshore applications.
