On the 22nd of June the Department of Home Affairs announced increases to Visa Application Charges (VACs) to take effect from the 1st of July for the new financial year. The increases will apply to common visas such as the TSS (subclass 482), RSMS (subclass 187) and the Skilled Independent (subclass 189) subclasses. The increases are in line with CPI with most increases ranging from 2-3% from current prices.
As an example, a visa application for a TSS visa on the medium term list with the primary applicant, a spouse and two dependants under 18 years will see a total increase of $140 from the current VAC prices.
This increase to the VACs is in addition to The Department's recent increase of the credit card surcharge to 1.32% for Visa and Mastercard.
Specific information on increases of individual visa applications can be found in The Department's explanatory statement.
